EICR Inspections in Scotland
Spartan Electrical Scotland carries out EICR inspections for landlords and homeowners across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Domestic reports typically cost £150 to £250 depending on circuit count. We test every circuit, deliver a coded report (C1, C2, C3 or FI), and quote any remedial work clearly so you can satisfy the Scottish Housing Quality Standard or simply know your installation is safe.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a full health-check of your fixed electrical installation. If you let property in Scotland, you are required to provide a satisfactory EICR every five years under the Private Tenancy regulations. If you own your home, an EICR every ten years is best practice and gives you a clear picture of the condition of your wiring.
We test every circuit, every accessory, and every protective device. The report is coded against BS 7671: C1 means danger present and immediate action is required, C2 means potentially dangerous and remedial action is needed for the report to be satisfactory, C3 is improvement recommended, and FI means further investigation. We explain what each code means in plain English.
Domestic EICRs typically cost between £150 and £250 depending on circuit count. Small commercial premises are quoted on the basis of distribution boards and circuits. We aim to deliver the report within five working days of the visit, and we quote any remedial work separately so you can decide what to do next.
If your existing report has come back unsatisfactory, we are happy to take over and complete the remedial work. We work with letting agents and direct landlords across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and beyond, and we keep documentation organised so renewals stay on top of you, not the other way round.
